They are made in something daft like a 95mm last. I would never get my foot in a pair.

Ise you`ve just jogged my memory,I know the Tilts reminded me of some boots i saw years ago.Raichle flexon are the one`s, I thought they were weird looking back then when every one else was wearing Lange.

I skied in Flexon Comps for years. They were perfect for me. I was devastated when I couldn't get them any more. I wore my last pair until the toe was worn to an edge. Haven't tried the Full Tilts but I'm tempted :D

I have only been skiing three times - twice in Andorra and in Jan in Austria for four days - red runs in Austria are obviously quite challenging for me but really enjoyed it.
I bought a pair of Atomic boots (sucker!) and have left them in the apartment (folks bought one last summer - cool!!) so as a result I can't try them on at home for a few days but....
My problem was not the fit as such (the foot fits perfectly) but the tongue is eating my shin after a few hours. It seems the tongue is not sitting straight with my shin and the "plastic" is cutting in. I simply shaved a couple of millimmetres off the tongue but not sure whether to continue with this to go too close to the stitching.
Has anyone got any ideas? I am going again at the end of Feb for a full week and would like to address this issue. Any suggestions welcome.
I know the boots are bottom range but the foot does fit.
Regards

The tongue on my boots irritates if it is not straight. WHen you put your boots on start with the power strap (velcro at the top) and tighten it a bit, flex forward, see where your shin is going and place the tongue as required. Do up the cuff buckles and repeat.. then do up the power strap to the required 'tightness' and just make sure it is straight again.. do up the rest of your boots!

Thanks a million - I will definitely try this - you don't think then that they are necessarily the "wrong" boots for me? As I said the foot fits fine.
I really didn't know enough about boots in general to know what to do with the power strap and how to use it. Now I do !!
Thanks again

Yeh I do my boots up from the top working down.. the bottom 2 only over enough so that they don't pop open again. Sometimes I won't do the bottom 2 for an hour or so until I am warmed up! Nah, the tongue on my boots is sometimes a bit squint if I don't pay enough attention in the mornings!

You can buy tibia pads and place them next to the skin under the sock. It can work for some problems but you don't want to mask a more serious problem of course.

Do a google search for 'Shin Shields' (brand name) if you decide to go this route - they are the best I've seen.
