I have managed to prize out the shells from my Atomic B Tech's and taken off the horribly uncomfortable foam that the bloke in S&R had stuck onto them to try and pad them out a little. There was no way I was ever going to wear the boots for more than 30 seconds with that sticking into my ankle.
I have bought some Spenco Polysorb insoles, and whilst these arent exactly custom footbeds, having pretty normal shaped feet means that these insoles have now taken up a desirable amount of room at the bottom of my boot, thus enabling me to squeeze my foot into them once more, and feel as if there is actually a layer of foam around my whole foot. My foot is now being nipped quite snugly when I clip up, and I reckon I have just about managed to resurrect the boots for another seasons use.
The 4 days skiing over Christmas will be the real test, but for the sake of £10 I am well chuffed.
Some good news re my boots

If you are talking about the bloke from Bicester, no, you are about 10 miles adrift. I bought them in JD Sports in Hammersmith about 3 weeks ago.

I thought you were going to say that you put the boots in the wash and they had shrunk to the right size. I was going to suggest tumble drying on the hot setting for extra snugness.

Good practical result Tony. And my kind of expense level. :-)
