Ha,,,,those hidden pleasures you never knew about skiing!
This is only of these "pleasures" that are never written about in ski magazines or ski books!
Watch next time you are in the ski lodge when some "experienced" skiers put on their gloves,,,there is a look of happiness,,, of pleasure as they slide those gloves on!
Want to get that feeling,,,, that look? Try this.
After a ski season most leather gloves get stiff and dry! Get some MINK OIL and liberally apply two layers. Allow one week of drying time between coats!
You will notice two great sensations next ski season; those gloves are supple, soft and transmit all those sensations from poles to your brain.
As it gets colder the gloves will remain soft!
Try it!

The mink has to die to provide this, it's a by product of the fur trade. Many people may not wish to support that trade.
I have no intention of using the extract of the fatty layer found under the skin of an animal killed only for it's skin.
There are alternatives, and use of mink oil supports the fur trade.

Its all part of the chain, and we as humans are higher than some measley rat.
In what way is it part of a "chain" to need to breed animals, solely to provide fashion items for rich women (and some men). It's natural to rear animals for food, and use the inedible parts of the carcass for clothing. Mink are bred solely for the fashion industry.
And you think that somehow makes us higher beings :?
Yes, I know it's a pretty good topic drift, though I'm not really seeing the connection of Mink Oil to Ski Hardware anyway.

Leather gloves Pav. Wow!
TK Max for you my lad. Good old fashioned thinsulate. Wear them for 6/8 seasons, then just when the thumbs are poking through, fix them with gaffer tape, thus extending the life for an extra two seasons. (After the first of these, my OH did offer a divorce)
Now they are gardening gloves, soon to be reduced to stone wall building gloves.
What do you think the Mink Oil might do for my gloves?
Another visit to TK Max due at the back end of this year......

I also have several gloves that are made of high grade nylon and in some very cold weather I prefer them,,,however love the smell of leather and that feel!!!!!!
Also my leather gloves after several years develope a "curve" just right for the ski poles!
Seems I do not even have to apply pressure the gloves and ski handles just mate!
The mink oil has a "natural" lubricating agent which enters into the pores of the leather. It acts as a protection and also renders the gloves ever so supple!
Whoever wins the coming contest will understand this special "pleasure" in wearing old well fit ski gloves!
Some men and women have been known to wear them to bed! ........but that is another Pavel story!!!!!
