If this is the liner you mention - this should not go inside the boot. The button is to allow room for it to be manoeuvred over the boot and clips. Keeping this outside will keep the snow out.
You really only want a wrinkle free sock in the boot.

I was mucking around this year with my boots, I would normally do them up as tight as poss and that is how they stay all day, so I thought I would loosen them this year to see if it affected my skiing, the answer is No it bloody well didn't ..... after the first couple of runs normal service was resumed, you seem to just naturally adjust :thumbup:
