Cheapo Thermals/Base Layer

You must have heard that before thermals became very popular people wore stockings or tights to keep warm 8)
Wicko me auld mucka, we have a frighteningly similar outlook on this mountain ting, be it the cold or sock habits. Don't tell me that breakfast is all about as much orange juice and coffee you can consume, whilst forcing a lite bite down the hatch. Queues are a good oppportunity to reflect on the stupidity of humanity, and anything that involves not going downhill fast is a waste of life?
Not too keen on the Oj but strong coffee and may be a nice jam , can't start the day with out it 8)
Yoghurt and fruit followed by a full fry up for us.

Merino wool is my favorite for base layers. Problem is: Icebreaker is really expensive. Sites like steapandcheap.com and tramdock.com really help out! :)

I bought cheapo thermals t shirts and bottoms in Primark, £2.50 each bargain.
Trouble is, I get too hot in them.
I have never worn thermals, I just don't feel the cold

I quite like reflecting upon the stupidity of humanity, Tino. But Gondola time is sufficient for that. However, I do find that I like 10 minutes warming my hands on a Gulaschesuppe, while gazing awestruck across the Kitszbuhle Alps. After that, I with you 100%

Porridge and a fry up before you venture out, every time. Unless I have a steaming hangover.
