That hostel looks fine and very cheap too. But thinking about the exhaust is making me feel sick already.

Just registered on here as someone from your site has enquired about our ski and board camp. I've read the thread and thought I'd come and clear a few things up.
The ski and board camp started three years ago as Atomic Boot Camp. Due to its success, and having listened to feedback from customers we teamed up with retailer Edge2Edge the following year and encorporated a wider spread of manufacturers equipment to test, as well as snowboards.
First post mildly mis-leading. The ski and board camp runs from 25th September - 13th December and the price is £99 in Sept/Oct, £125 in November and £149 in December and there is an £18 per person per night for Friday and Saturday nights, making the weekends more expensive. The price is based on two sharing one of our most basic rooms, upgrades are either £4 for type B or £6 for type A per person per night. Some of our type A rooms can sleep up to 4, with more than two in the room no room supplements apply.
The price is for set time return Geneva transfers (collecting around 19:30 outwards, leaving resort around 16:00 on return - ensuring you get three days on the snow), three nights catered accommodation with a hot late supper on arrival, breakfast and afternoon tea with homemade cakes daily and a three course dinner in the evening (wine not included during ski and board camp - but available to buy from our in house bar), a three day lift pass and unlimited use of the equipment.
We have two new mini buses - we had a small problem for a short time during the first year, which was repaired asap. Irrellevent now as the buses are new. We are not limited to 8 per day, we have two buses running which means 16 in and out per day (we don't have accommodation to accommodate more than that).
In terms of the test equipment, there will be a ski tech on hand to fit you up when you arrive - if you're happy with what you have (and provided there's noone who particularly wants to use something you have) you can use it for three days, the ski tech will be available every tea time to re-fit you if you wish to try something else. There is enough equipment for you to use throughout so no need to bring your own kit; if you want to - that's fine. If there is something particular you want to try tell the ski tech on arrival and he'll make sure you get at least one of your three days on it. No requirement or pressure to buy, make comment or anything else; simply enjoy yourself and try out some 2010 kit with no obligation.
During Sept/Oct obviously skiing is limited to the glacier. You will be transported up there in the morning, and collected in the afternoon. Snow permitting, and as it comes they open lower glacier runs and down to Val Claret (double M) during November, historically this has been around 1st/2nd week - we don't know when it will be. By end of November most of resort is open, usually around 28th November thought December. The lift pass provided will cover you for whatever is open.
Sometimes people find it difficult to get flights to fit with our transfers (particularly outside of London) and that's why we've made some suggestions of places to stay near the airport on our site, in case you want to fly back in the morning - Formula 1 is just 33 euros per room per night for example.
Hopefully that answers a lot of the questions...and some of the negatives!! There's no catch and we're not trying to trick everyone!!!! The prices are published in full on website and how much it is depends on when you go and what sort of room you want (subject to availablity - we are selling quite fast and been on sale since May).
Many thanks - great site! Will be happy to answer any further questions and feel free to drop me a line or give me a call.

But I do admit to being the one who contacted her about the gear test camp in Tignes. My daughter wants to go. I still have to fix the global warming/sick in a minibus problem though.
Is anyone else going, and hiring a car in Geneva? I'm O.K. in a car as long as I can sit in the front. I'm also O.K. in a minibus in the front, but I don't suppose I can specify this as part of the deal, because they might have another customer subject to car sickness.
And I can 'fix' the global warming problem by turning off our one radiator and putting on an extra fleece (or my ski clothes I suppose), or doing the shopping on my bicycle, or having a shower all year instead of a bath (I hate showers!).
On another totally unrelated subject, which isn't worth a thread on its own, my daughter was at the Royal Welsh Agricultural show yesterday, and she says the tug of war teams were wearing ski boots, to help them grip.
