Maybe one day when I get so bored with all the other skiing nations I might just try Austria, America is such a big place, it might take a few years though

Wagrain isnt on my list for Austria. Abnd this is the Italian shortlist anyway...

I am down to the Val Gardena/Sella Ronda as my choice for Italy. Arabba or Selva. After some careful consideration and valuable input on here, thanks

I think I might do Italy next year, cost of living prices seem slightly cheaper

Well its been on my list for a few years now, so its number 1 choice for Italy.

I am now looking at:

Sella Ronda area for Italy

Ischgl/Schladming/Solden for Austria

Zermatt/Laax for Switzerland

I have dismissed France out of hand as none it really compares to the above for what I want. I was seriously considering Les Arcs until I came across the bits that said it was bleak, miserable, lots of long cold lifts, plenty of queuing, and very expensive to eat/drink out and on the slopes. I guess thats much of France summarised in one sentence. Alpe d'Huez keeps appearing and then disappearing from my list, but I just cant put anything French above the above.

And then, after all thi research, the Mrs goes and finds a couple of particularly smart chalets in Verbier that she wants me to look into forher......
