As I said. Personal choice. You have chosen to pay £83 for a piece of brightly coloured plastic that costs a 'cool' sounding company pennies to produce in an Asian sweat shop.
If it makes you feel better, then so be it.

Always happens on any debate on here - personal remarks that add zero value

The same is applicable for the majority of clothes and footwear you wear including ski gear - unless you make your own with knitting needles?!

He made a decision that suits him. What's up with that?

As I said, personal choice.I actually thought I was making a valid point about the evils of capitalism and the exploitation of third world workers. I know my opinion differs from you two. I still believe I have the right to express it.
Thanks for the reaction though. Love it!!!

It also looks i've had good service from the store Absolute Snow and the Royal Mail. It was ordered yesterday and delivered this morning before 9:00

When I was considering helmets and trying a few on for fit I got some brilliant service from Cameron at RX Sport (Nr Peterborough. If anyone was looking for a helmet or Goggles and wanted a relaxed atmosphere to try something on and talk through the options it's worth a visit

Keep safe and have fun out there "forum-neers"

Two things pushed me towards wearing one.

The first was accompanying my son off the piste in a body bag, down on the gondola, transfer to an ambulance, down the valley to a hospital, and waiting for a CAT scan. This after he'd had a very light fall onto ice at low speed and got concussion and then came 'round obviously confused. I'm convinced a helmet would have helped.

The other is hearing all the exact same arguments against in the days when mandatory seat belts were being debated. 'It's a marketing con'; 'It'll encourage people to be careless.'; 'I've driven for 40 years without needing one'; 'You'll still die in anything other than a minor accident,' etc.

Firmly believe my helmet saved me from serious injury when I slipped under a chairlift three years ago and got hit by the seat. Nasty injury to my upper arm but could have been my head if it weren't for the helmet. I've seen several people hit on the head by t-bars and hard rubber button seats often through other people's carelessness. I'd never go without a helmet!

I wear one for 3 (yes 3!) reasons.

1. I'm in the fire service and have had a fair few incidents where my helmet has helped avoid injury.

2. I find it comfy and a few bangs on the slope have made me not think twice about wearing one.

3. When I ski with my family I think it sets a good example to them, imagine of my Son didn't wear one then got hurt? I couldn't live with myself.

It doesn't give me any false sense of security and I'd feel strange without one, kind of like not wearing a seat belt.

Like a few people have said it is of course personal choice, but I'd say yes every time.

Cheers

Steve
