Transarc lift in Les Arcs 1800 to reopen
Login
The final phase of the Transarc upgrade in Les Arcs 1800 will be completed for this winter.
The new Transarc will have 138 cabins, compared with 92 previously. They will be more spacious 10-seat gondolas, improving passenger comfort and use less electricity than the previous lift.
The gondola will cover 3.4km, rising from 1707m to 2544m at a speed of 7 metres/second. That means the journey time will be reduced to just 13 minutes, compared to old journey time of 20 minutes.
The top station will feature a 360° panoramic view and the mid-station has a mineral gallery.
The project started last year when the first phase saw a reorganisation of the sales area to give improved access to the ski area and the installation of an escalator for easier access to the Transarc from Arc 1800.
