Austria's Largest Ski Area to Offer 374km of Piste by 2022 says Property Seller

J2SkiNews posted Nov-2018

A property seller looking to sell apartments in a new development due to open in the resort of Fieberbrunn in Austria next year has said owners will find they've bought in what will be the next 'biggest ski area in Austria' and one of the six largest ski areas in the world by 2022.

The Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn area became the largest in Austria several years ago when Fieberbrunn was linked to the other resorts, overtaking the long-term biggest, the Skiwelt. However 12 months later the linking of the Lech and the St Anton sides of the Arlberg ski area created what remains the new current biggest with 306km.

However work has begun on a new lift which the developers of the new All-Suite Resort Fieberbrunn, which is located in the centre of Fieberbrunn and within close proximity of the new ski lift system, say will play a major role in returning the area to the top spot for size by linking to a fifth village Zell am See.

They report that after this first lift is completed next winter further lifts will complete the connection to create a ski area with 374km of piste.

Among the other points listed in favour of buying property in Fieberbrunn, the property sellers say that Fieberbrunn captures 50% more snowfall than Kitzbuhel and recorded the highest snowfall in Tirol over the past 40 years – earning the name 'Schneeloch' (snowhole).
