10 reasons to buy a Go Pro.

Any camera in low light will suffer with quality as they have to increase the sensitivity of the sensor to compensate, this is known as the ISO value.
Higher ISO's result in high noise levels, grainy images.
The only way around this is longer shutter speeds and a tripod but neither of these are practical with a sports camera.
You can get some good stills in normal daylight but forget it for anything else, theye are not built for that type of photography im afraid.
You are more than welcome to borrow mine Andy if i am not away that week. Pay the postage and replace any damages and its yours.
Thanks for the pm, much appreciated. However looking at the number of days before you go, I think I'll on my way out there as you're on your way back.
(I'll be on the train so will be in Meribel early Saturday 19th Jan.)
In good light as suggested mate. I doubt he has good ones in poor light conditions.
Andy, I'm back on the 5th jan. I'm away for new year. And away again on 9th feb.

Anything less than low light seems to defeat all quality.

They do take good stills, but not in low light levels.
