Snow is continuing to fall across North America after the continents 6 week warm spell from mid-October to late-November.
Some of the accumulation figure are very impressive indeed with Whistler Blackcomb now reporting nearly 2 metres (seven feet) of snowfall in a little over a week.
Squaw Valley in California to the south (pictured above yesterday) says it will open today with top-to-bottom skiing after it received two feet of snow in the latest storm.
The snowfall has continued further inland with reports of 23cm at Park City and 35cm at Snowbird, both in Utah, in the past 24 hours.
There were also 20-25cm accumulations in the same period reported at resorts in Colorado including Aspen, Breckenridge and Crested Butte.
Snowfall is now being forecast over on the East Coast too where resorts in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont are expected top received up to 40cm of snow by the weekend.
It's good news for the continent's ski areas after a nervous November with warm weather and very little snowfall.
"Following two feet of fresh snow this weekend, the upper mountain at Squaw Valley will open today, November 29, with top to bottom skiing via Mountain Run. Gold Coast Funitel, Gold Coast Express and Big Blue Express will open at 9am tomorrow and Shirley Lake Express is scheduled to open tomorrow at noon. Gold Coast Terrain Park will also open tomorrow and grab-and-go food and drinks will be available at Gold Coast Lodge," a spokesperson from Squaw Valley said.
