Reasons why I prefer Murren to Wengen in March or just in general -

Better views
More snow sure
Less commercialised and still car free
Better off piste skiing
Higher resort
No lift q's and now an excellent lift system

Do I need to go on...lol

Biki, I've been to Serre Che 3 times in a year, twice in March and once in April. Not a hint of problems with the snow, plenty of high peaks, and tons of runs to go at, with a lot of tree lined skiing too.
Its one of my fav places. I wrote a few reviews on the place on here before, and I'd recommend staying in Villeneuve or Monetier. It really is a unique place, not the usual ski resort but fantastic skiing. Some old lifts, yes, but a well linked area with some brilliant pistes and when it snows, the off piste is unlimited.
If late season is a concern, dont let it be here. Its a little bit special, but dont tell everyone, I wouldnt want the world and his dog turning up and ruining it.

Tony,

You are good man :!:
I won't tell anyone )
My only worry about the place is that this March may not be as good for snow as when you were there.
But I promise I will be watching snow reports for Serre Che until I make my final decision.

Some great footage of an off piste run from the Schilthorn down to Lauterbrunnen via the secret valley taken end of Jan 11 when the snow was excellent.

Thanks for that I really enjoyed the Vid, I seldom watch ski vids all the way through I seem to get bored but I did yours.
Don't take this the wrong way but I would love to watch the Vid without the backing track as you tend to lose a lot of the atmosphere and your ski enjoyment ..... wind and all.

Chris,

Superb photo & off-piste video :!:.
I guess it is not possible to ski all the way down to Lauterbrunnen at the moment.

Hopefully we get some (loads! please) snow fall before the end of the month in Murren.
