Monoskiing shares the lateral forces.
For some serious mono-stoke you need to check out these two films with Pif Brun... Second one is a descent of the Eugster on the North face of the Midi...

Can only see two real uses:

1) Breakable crust - probably still worth a miss
2) Separation (body-legs) - drills

Nice video, I just seem to be missing the helicopter to reach that powder. Guess will be sticking to a conventional touring setup.

Fresh Snow is reported by Bolquère Pyrénées 2000, Corrençon en Vercors, Font Romeu, La Pierre Saint Martin, Les 7 Laux Prapoutel, Orcières-Merlette, Vars and Villard de Lans.

 At least 175 French Ski Areas are reported to be open.
