I'm usually very much a DIY guy.... but sometimes a bit of hunting can get you a real good deal - and not just last minute eaither.
This January we stayed in a 4 star chalet in La Tania with sauna, food wine, flights, transfers at a grand total of £423 each which I thought was a damn good deal. This was booked in April 2008 which got us a stack of discounts for committing early. The last minute prices from the same company were no better and we got our pick of chalet, resort and date by committing early. BUT I did a lot of hunting and haggling to get it.

Having worked out how much we would save by not driving through france on the way back, we have decided to use the saved money on 2 nights in Amsterdam. Leaving Alpe d'Huez on the friday night, drive through the night to amsterdam and then get a cheaper ferry back to hull on monday, genius!

So heading off to Niederau for a couple of weeks,
Flights Edinburgh to Munich, ~ £0, (Your points)
Train fare & Taxi, Munich to Worgl, then Niederau £60
Accomodation, 14 nights, £356, could do this for 50% less
Food, 14n, £152
Total, 2 weeks, £416, £208 per week
If flight were paid, add £68, total £484, ie £242 per week
Season pass working out at £39/week

This may not be perfect for everyone as most of the site is in Spanish (with English sections) but have you tried www.rumba.es ??
It has a skiing holiday section, which has hotels at normal prices, but all the hotels on this site include ski passes for the duration of your stay. This makes it very cheap !!
