Thanks Gaz, a comprehensive reply! Having just returned from a French trip where the instructor expressly forbade me to go on the black run in the resort (although it is unpisted - Sainte Foy 'Crystal Dark' for those who know it) I may have to get a few more years under my belt but I am not afraid of slow sliding steep bits so will take your advice and take a look over the edge! Sounds like you had a good trip and thanks for the heads-up re lower sections. Its on my 'to do before I die (sieze up - whichever comes first) list'. Thanks again for sharing.

Ha-ha! I had to get it written down while it's still fresh in the old memory. :-) I shall have forgotten 90% of it by next week. :-) I can't say I'm familiar with the Crystal Dark run at St. Foy so I don't know how it compares. The Schilthorn is pisted though, so that's one thing in your favour. When you do get the opportunity to go, I would suggest you kill two birds with one stone and get over to Wengen and have a go at the Lauberhorn run (but not at the speed of Kueng & Co.!) ;-)
