skiing in France during French school holidays. Bad idea?

I think, as with all things, you can only base an opinion on your own experience.

Personally, I prefer grabbing my skis, trudging over to the lift and shuffling in the queue. Zermatt I think had buses they weren't too bad but we've normally gone during fairly quiet periods and not during national school hols.

So Anne's statements, to my eyes read like the exact opposite of what we'd want from a chilled couple of days.

Then you get a couple of pics of a deserted piste during a school hols period :)
