That goes against all my ski principles I'm afraid. I'd rather get up early and be first up the lift and get away from any crowds
Really?
8 of us going same date. Could be interesting

Arrived in Davos this afternoon. Monterosa villages much prettier and easier to get around. As for eating out there is no contest. Look to pay a good thirty percent more for food. Dinner tonight was ok but 8 Francs (6eu) for a 100ml of house white is a rort. The bloody glass came out empty whereas in Italy they were brimming them.

Champoluc described exactly as I remember it and Tony H, I stayed in the Hotel Du Chamnpoluc on our 2nd visit and couldn't be more convenient.
Out of the boot room, walk across the bottom of the piste, up a few stairs and on the lift counldn't be easier and on the way back almost ski into the boot room.
The Hotel itself a little tired (may have had a lick, but very clean and the food we had there was excellent and staff really nice. The owner liked a deal for cash when it came to settling up the bill, said it as a joke and he gave us 10% off!!!
Nice little bar in there for the evening, but Apres always went to Pacha Mama's about 200m or 300m away as that was the liveliest place, some bands on some nights good Apres atmosphere but very different to Austria, plus they put out loads of food for free, you could actually eat enough there without buying a meal later.

Great report. Skied Champoluc/Gressoney about 6 times now-fab. area, fab. prices-don't tell too many people about it!!! Only problem in season is queues out of Champoluc on Sundays, so get up late and have a long lunch in the village. Colpam.
