Well, it was put on there one saturday night after a few too many Cidre/red wine. It was during one time when there was a conversation of lid v bobble and it getting heated.

I was obviously in the lid camp and put it on my sig, along with the p!ss taking about me being a northern monkey.

Just a bit of fun one drunkerd night that has stayed there!!

That's it - nothing special ;)

I see where it comes from but it still doesn't actually mean anything. The lid will beat the bobble.......I guess you mean you prefer helmets to bobble hats when it comes to that discussion?
Anyway, wibble over.
Back to adders live from the French mountains.......

Nah it does not mean that. But maybe another day.

So adders, how is the white stuff, fondue, and beer??

If you ladies can put your handbags down, we can get back to the snow...

Yesterday morning was classic. First lift was 20 minutes late opening as the pisteurs were still having fun with the dynamite, and only the mountain below 2600m was open. We headed straight for Valentin which (as seems to be usual here) had been left un-pisted. Thigh deep, creamy smooth powder and making first tracks top to bottom set the day up perfectly.

Not many pics but here's a crappy iPhone snap from the first run...

After which James from ESSS (European Ski and Snowboard School) took us into the safe stashes above the town.

By mid afternoon the temperature was rising though and the powder turning to porridge. Overnight has been a mix of rain, wind and more snow in the town so we're anticipating somewhat variable conditions today!

The top section (glacier) of the mountain has been closed the past couple of days due to the wind, but the (on and off-piste) descents down from the Cretes into the town are a great place to play, and are often overlooked.

Oh yes, the beer and fondue are pretty good too...

Thanks for your news and photo Admin - looks good :)

But I don't like the sound of the porridge much - it's OK in my breakfast bowl, but I don't like ski-ing in it!

Best of luck with the snow conditions today :D

En direct from the mountain...

Weather better than expected so far but blasting like crazy due to mucho wind slab accumulation overnight. Piste conditions still excellent with a little wind scouring in exposed places.
