Folks,
I very much appreciate your experiences and enjoy your 'frank' comments...
Yesterday, My wife and I quite impulsively booked Val Thorens (based on altitude and variety of trails) for 3 or 4 days skiing from the 9th of April.
It is over 2 hours from Geneva Int Airport, any recommendations on how to travel to Val Thorens???
Bus transfer, Taxi Transfer, Rent a car???

Hire a car probably. Taxi or private transfer is unlikely to be cheaper than a small rental car. Bus will be cheaper but likely to take a bit longer unless you're very lucky with timings, and won't wait if your plane is late.
Good choice though; stacks of snow in Val Thorens that isn't going away any time soon...

Admin is quite correct the cheapest transfer is to hire a car, Altibus is approx 130euro each return and you may have to wait although car hire is not that cheap as you have to pay for parking in Val Thorens

Based on cost E270.00 and the flexibility I think we will hire a car.
Can anyone recommend a tour guide (skier), for half a day to give us an introduction to the various slopes/trails available to us, some history of the area, recommend resturants and give us the do's & don'ts???
and what would/should this cost approx???

would suggest taking a look at Valthonet.com there should be something on there,
I would not like to recommend what runs to look at as no idea of what the conditions will be like
