Hi Acarr

Yes that's what I came up with but Simondorras was asking for a resort with easy green runs.

Bandit suggested Megeve and BKK. If you look up the resorts on J2ski Megeve looks brilliant, but BKK ~ 2 blue runs and the rest are red and black. So I wonder if BKK is actually somewhere else.

I'm quite interested in this topic as I go with some terribly nervous skiers who need some really gentle runs to enjoy themselves and not something that will put them off for ever! Also, they tend to get stuck on one run which they are happy with when they could be travelling miles aroudn the mountain, seeing beautiful sights, experiencing different pit stops and gainning confidence (which is what's holding them back).

In my view the resort that is best set up for nervous/novice skiers is Courchevel 1850.
It is littered with green and blue runs and dedicated novice areas - the Pralong is huge and fenced off to stop bombers rushing through.
Although it has the reputation of being uber expensive it doesn't have to be.
The attraction for me has been with children and a non skiing OH - I can dive off onto something good really quickly and then scoot back to meet up.
So - I get in my skiing as well as looking after the others.

Courchevel does look good. I'll add it to my list for 2013.

Corvara, in the Sella Rhonda, in the Dolomites has just come to mind. Full of lovely blues, and you've got the historic Hidden Valley nearby, if you can find it, and plenty of skiing for the more experienced skiers nearby, such as Val Gardena.

The original poster also has non skiers in their party. Bad Kleinkirchheim is a Spa Resort.

It also has 18km of Blue pistes. Many resorts have no Green slopes, because they don't differentiate between green and blue gradings.

I'd like to give a vote for Alpe D'Huez. It may not meet the picturesque criteria but it does have loads of very gentle skiing suitable for the most timid of skiers. Perhaps most importantly, this includes several runs back to base so no tricky, over-crowded resort runs that you tend to encounter in most other resorts. :D

While a few people have mentioned Courcheval, I would have two reservations. Firstly, it tends to be very busy - not something that timid skiers like. Secondly, it is extremely poor value for skiers who will only sample a tiny portion of the resort. In my view, they are better off looking at smaller resorts which will suit their skiing ability and cost them a lot less

ADH gets my vote too. Even in the satellite villages, like Oz en Oisans, you can always get back by lift, so you can travel around the resort and not just be stuck in one place.
Thay way, should you choose to, you can experience the resort without actually having to ski what my better half used to call "a cliff of death".

I just ran one of the part green part blue runs at Megeve, it's fine but like any run when you first do it - alone - and you're not experienced it's a little like 'where the hell am I going?', but I'm sure in a group it'll be a piece of cake.

I've been to BKK and went as an early intermediate and it was difficult. I would not suggest it for somewhere to ski unless you are a good intermediate.
