Guys and Gals,

We are all paid up for a week with Inghams in Avoriaz.
As this is a car free resort i am wondering about getting to our apartments from the car park drop off. I know there are snow cats and horse drawn sleighs available at a charge but do the tour operators provide this service free of charge on transfer day?

Can anyone with experience of Avoriaz and Inghams tell me how they got on? I would find it a bit annoying if we get dumped at the resort gate and have to shell out for onwards transport. Our apartments look to be an uphill walk so don't really fancy that with 4 cases plus skis.

Thanks

I've never been on a package tour holiday but if i did, I'd expect the tour operator to get me from airport to door of my accommodation....by car, sleigh, camel, whatever (and at no extra cost).

You can quote me snapzzz!
slippy slidey snow......me likey!

It doesn't but i have an answer now.
They drop you off in the resort car park and transfer your luggage by whatever means. You are expected to walk to your accomm.

I hope its not far!

Never been to Avoriaz so cant be sure but have travelled with Inghams many times and nevr known them dump you. Even car free resorts usually have a dispensation for luggage vans so you may have to walk but without luggage at least

That's the down side of a traffic free resort. Small price to pay if you ask me.

posted at same time as my previous - I wasn't being deliberately obtuse!

Nothing is ever that far a walk in a traffic free resort - nice stretch of legs after the coach transfer is no bad thing in many ways
