This from TravelMole :-

Snow is causing flight disruption at both Stansted and Luton Airports today.

Runways at both airports were closed this morning and although they have since reopened they are operating with restricted movements so delays and cancellations are expected.

EasyJet diverted at least one flight from Stansted to Birmingham this morning and it said it was expecting some delays as a result of the earlier runway closures at Luton and Stansted.

Ryanair said all its flights from Stansted and Luton would be affected.

Passengers are advised to check the status of their flight with their airlines before travelling to either airport.

I was at Luton earlier and a mate at stansted.
Max 2 inches of snow.
Pathetic and sadly typical of the uk.

Yep, pictures looked like there was a mere dusting - when you think what most of us have probably taken off/landed in over the water its shameful.

we did have quite a heavy snow fall in Newcastle on Wednesday with a lot of black ice around that gridlocked the City Centre due to jack knifed buses etc (Newcastle is a series of steep hills down to the river)

Still amazes me how many people cant drive in it though - one of my colleagues had to go and get his wife as she's got her Merc stuck on black ice and couldn't shift it. I'd ban rear wheel drive cars in the UK as people clearly can't adjust when we do get a bit of snow

My Merc stays at home when it's snowy, it's a complete waste of time going round in circles
