Hi BB! Hope you had a great time.
You know that one of us not skiing (me and Mr Nelly) has never crossed my mind. Sounds like OA has got it covered though.

Hi Andy,
No, we're not packed yet - I'm just doing the washing so I've got something clean to pack
We had a few problems to sort out:
1. Out of the 3 of us, only I had a valid passport - my daughter's was nicked and my husband's was out of date. But now all 3 of us have valid passports :D
2. All our EHIC cards (for free hospital medical care in France) were out of date. We've now got 2 of the new ones - still waiting for the third one.
3. My younger daughter has been horribly ill with some feverish flu bug - but she seems to be improving a bit now :D
I've been keeping an eye on the weather forecast for Tignes as well - my husband hates the cold and the snow and I'd confidently told him there wouldn't be any at resort level at this time of year
It looks like sun on Monday, rain/snow Tuesday (depending on the altitude), heavy snow Tuesday night, rain/snow Wednesday - total of 39 cm snow over the 3 days
I just hope we can see where we're going, in all that snow 8)

I only learnt to ski because my boyfriend did (and he learnt quite late in life). He is now my husband and we enjoy skiing together, although he is still much better than me!
I started on the dry slope locally with weekly lessons but I didn't tell him where I went on a Wednesday evening. I wanted to surprise him. He noticed me being late home from work every week and it crossed his mind that I was having an affair.
All's well that ends well though and I am so glad I made the effort to learn, as I just luuurrrve my skiing now. And he was really chuffed that I did it so I could join him. :D

My thoughts are that we would continue to go to the alps, and while my frau is skiing, I would just spend all day painting ~ instead of managing with some time at the end of the ski day, making it difficult to finish a painting.
Apart from that, I would spend the time just meeting and talking with locals at whichever village we would be in.
