Hi skiers! I was wondering do any of you have any previous experience about skiing in Interlaken?
Do you know if there is enough snow for Christmas?
Thanks!

Interlaken isn't a ski resort; at only 568 m it's much too low. There is a free ski bus to Grindelwald (takes about an hour) that stops in Zweilütschinen where you can catch the train to Mürren/Wengen.

Well if you willing to drive for skiing should be a magical place for Christmas. Plenty of high resorts within driving distance so as long as expectation is correct then can be fantastic holiday. Great choice if few non skiers in group.

Mürren and Wengen are car free. The nearest parking is in Lauterbrunnen and costs CHF 13.50 a day during the week and CHF 16.50 at weekends, if you can find a space. Parking in Grindelwald is limited, you would more than likely have to park in Grindelwald-Grund at CHF 6 a day

Thanks for the replies.
Is there organized transportation from Interlaken? How long is the ride? Is it included in the skipass?
Thanks a lot!

I think the trains from Interlaken Ost railway station to the ski areas are included in the Jungfrau regional ski pass http://www.jungfrau.ch/en/winter/tourism/travel-information/skipass/jungfrau/ You can get the journey times from the timetable http://www.jungfrau.ch/en/winter/tourism/travel-information/timetable/

Hi
I would try and stay closer to a ski resort than Interlaken (its an awful town) unless you fancy a 38 minute train journey every day each way leaving Interlaken Ost and taking you to Winteregg Mürren). I would even suggest Lauterbrunnen over Interlaken !!

Why not Wengen/Murren or Grindelwald? Interlaken is pretty awful, I have to agree with the post above. We had incident with a bunch of local younth, no older than 18-20 y.o., who were pretty aggressive and it took us considerable effort to avoid a real confrontation. Fairly unexpected experience for Switzerland.
