I will be in Davos with a group February 1. Only 5 days there, is it a good idea to hire a guide for 3-4 days? We do alpine skiing only and would like to get to Klosters for one day at least. Also, best places for lunch breaks and anything really memorable you recommend for that place! :)

If money is no object then why not, just make sure the guide goes at your pace not the other way around. Otherwise just grab a ski-piste map at the lift-pass ticket counter.
Here is some info. about places to go/what to do: http://www.ultimate-ski.com/Ski-Resorts/Switzerland/Davos/index.html

Are you talking about off-piste? If so then a guide might be worth it there are some good secret stashes up there.

If you have a fresh snowfall the Pischa area is known as the freeride mountain. They don't prepare many pistes and leave a large area unprepared. It's not steep so reasonably safe and if you stay in the areas the risk is very reduced. There is also a 1:25,000 freeride map of the area which is worth purchasing if you intend to go freeriding or touring.

Going to Klosters for a day is not exactly a challenge. The Parsenn ski area is accessed from Davos and Klosters so it is possible to ski on-piste from one town to another quite easily.

If you are on piste you shouldn't need guidance. Access to Klosters is easy, and there is the most pleasant easy run back, the Ersazt Standard.

Hi there! I was in Klosters and Davos for a few days last weeek and I would definitely recommend getting a guide for at least a few days out of your 5.

The off piste terrain is unbelievably good and varied and if you are with someone who knows the area well, they will take you to the untouched powder spots that you probably wouldn't find on your own.

Have a great time, i'm very jealous!
