I wonder if someone can help me.
Last year I went on my first ever ski holiday (age 33) and now I have the bug.

I've completed a weeks ski school in Switzerland and I suppose I'd say I'm a very early intermediate, I can control my speed on basic slopes, do snow plough turns and very basic parallel turns.

I have four night so three days skiing booked this month in Sestriere and I'm not sure how best to use that time. A bit of ski school/Half days Private instructor/Full days private instructor, every day or just some of the days, Practice with more experienced friends etc.

My girlfriend who I'm going with is embarrassing good and has offered to spend time helping me on the slopes.

I'd like to learn as much as I can in these three days.

Any advice appreciated.

Dmiff, Private ski lessons for half a day for each day would be superb and help you out.
You will learn a millions time more than any ski school.

Thank for the response

So have a private lesson each morning and then spend the afternoons practising what I've been taught?

Sometimes it's worth taking a day to get used to skiing again, before taking a lesson. As a one week skier, you'll likely find the first morning, you will have regressed a bit, so spending time practicing the exercises you learned before will help get the feel back. That way you won't waste the first lesson, and will be at your real level when taking a lesson on the second day.
because I'm so inclined .....

I agree with half a day private lesson each day would be ideal. I took a couple of private lessons on my last ski holiday and felt it was well worth it. This year I have decided to take group lessons for 3 half days and private lessons for two days but this is just because my budget wont allow for private lessons every day. :-)

go indoors for a couple of sessions before you go back, just to get your "ski legs" in order to get the best out of a short ski break?

Don't get sucked into your partner and friends teaching you, it can break your confidence, go for private lessons for as ever long as you can afford.
Not too sure I would class myself as an Intermediate skier after one week !!!

Private instructor! one on one is so much more beneficial and you will learn much more in a morning with a private lesson than you would with a whole day of ski school.

You can then head off in the afternoon with friends etc. and practice what you have been taught!

Good luck and enjoy,

Lucy :)
