Hi all,
I am heading to Zell am See next weekend for a weeks skiing. I am looking to demo and buy my first pair of ski's. After looking on-line and contacting a couple of shops (with no response!) I am at a bit of a loss as to whether there is somewhere within the resort that offers an extensive demo service.
Does anyone have any advice or know of anywhere?
Many thanks,
Lucy :D

Have you tried Intersport? There are quite a few of their shops in Zell Am See and they are really helpful. And they have wished me a Happy Birthday today-what more can you say:-)

Hi Lucy, there are a few shops in and around the Zell bus station that sell equipment. As the previous poster said there is Intersport and there is also a shop called Carve In. Sorry I am not much help as I don't know any of the other shop names. Hope you enjoy your holiday and manage to purchase your skis. Look forward to hearing how you get on. :D

Thanks Zell Belle! I have actually managed to organise through the chalet. However I am going to go to the Hemel indoor slopes this weekend to demo a few pairs with the aim to buy!
I have never been to Zell before - any good tips or 'must do' runs that you recommend? Im skiing with a large group (all different abilities) and would love to have some ideas of good places to ski or visit...

Hi Lucy. I am only at intermediate level so am sorry but can't help you with good black runs but I am sure someone else will be able to. A good site with loads of info is www.zellamsee-kaprun.com. There is a good choice of bars and restaurants - ones we went to were Hotel Traube, Kuperkessel (interesting restaurant with good food) near the railway station I think, Crazy Daisy for a drink and it has a nightclub, but there are loads to choose from. We were there with people who knew the area well so I just followed them about. I am going on 22 Jan again so look forward to hearing how you get on. Have a great time :D :D :D

There used to be a live webcam at schmitten.at but it has now gone! So you can go to livecam.feratal.at
You can see almost any webcam you want from here. Legal ones obviously!
