If you want to consider France, take a look at Alpe d'Huez as its all ski in ski out and has a lively bar scene, or my favourite place Serre Chevalier and stop in either Monetier or Villeneuve.
Best of luck.

You want it all don't you!
If you want apres-ski, then Austria wins hands down. Most resorts will have very lively apres ski and reasonably priced beer - think €4 versus €6 in France.
On the other hand, as the resorts are generally traditional old villages, it can be trickier to get accommodation within walking distance of the lifts.
St Anton is a wonderful resort with the best skiing and best apres ski. However, it is quite big and you really need to pick your accommodation carefully to avoid the need for buses.
Soll is another of my "regular" spots but there are only a very few hotels close to the lift meaning a fairly long walk or a bus.

Ok, if you want Apres you want to go to Austria, and I'd suggest St Anton just because its brilliant, Mayrhofen as I've been 5 times and going again in Feb and its authentic Austria with some great apres and cheap generally, or look at Ischgl with its masses of red runs and lively town.Gonzo wrote:Hi

There are plenty of resorts an hour from Geneva, particular favourites are LGB or the Grand massif,
plenty of skiing for all abilities, prices for apres ski are reasonable, although apres is low on my agenda as for me it is all about the skiing.
