February 2011 - Month Long Ski Trip Suggestions/ Offers?

I am looking to spend the month of February somewhere I can ski! I have skied a lot round Europe and North America and know my way about. It just needs to be a big enough ski area and challenging enough to keep me amused for a month of skiing. My first though was France, North America is out but otherwise I am open to suggestions?

Looking for anyone who has accommodation available in February or looking for ski buddies. I am a 35 year old guy, intermediate to advanced skier who wants to be able to claim to be a bloody brilliant skier by the end of February! Pretty easy going, I will try to get out early every day ski as much as I can and then chill in the evening sometimes with a beer in a bar and others in front of a movie or just listening to music, etc.

Remember that the French winter break starts 12th Feb through to 12th March.With the Paris region off from the 12th Feb to the 27th Feb. Also in that fortnight is the UK half term 19th-27th Feb. Busy Busy!!

I agree, avoid France in February, and avoid anywhere popular with the Brits from 19th-26th.

Many of the resorts are linked to the great railway network. Maybe you could base yourself centrally and go for a Ski Safari.

I am doing a 3 week trip in the Alps, starting in L'Alpe d'Huez on January 30th (one weeks stay), then no plans. Sounds like I can spend another week in France, then need to get out of there and into Switzerland/Austria due to school holidays. Glad to read the info re this, it's of great help. Rob, if you need a ski buddy, then I'm also travelling on my own, but need to be in Vienna for work on Sunday 20th Feb. I'm coming from Aus and am really looking forward to skiing Europe again (did Japan last year and then Canada before that). Skied most continents except South America.
