Hi guys.

i am trying to find new resort to go to where the slopes are as accesible as saalbach. I have been to Bulgaria, Kitzbhul, Chamonix and Saalbach.and the thing i like most about saalbach is how it is so easy to ski any side of the mountain. We did not once use a bus in saalbach and we manged to ski nearly every blue and red route available to us. Can any one suggest another resort that is as well linked by lifts etc as saalbach. I have been to saalbach 2 years in a row and would love to find somewhere new. :D

Skiwelt, (Ski-Welt Wilde Kaiser circuit) made up of 8 towns, but all linked on the mountain. Have to use free ski bus to and from most accomodation to the base lifts (unless you want a 10 mins up hill walk) but the bus is very frequent though sometimes overcrowded. Huge area, very pretty like Hinterglemm/Saalbach with lots of tree-lined runs. Most difficult runs situated above Soll, much easier ones above Scheffau and Ellmau. If you want to travel by road to the various towns you will have to pay. Snow can be unpredictable, but if it's cold enough the whole area is covered by snow cannons.

Scladming is a fine range and you can opt to say at one of the quieter feeder villages to the area. Not a massive British presence there and maybe desribed as not being the liveliest area for Apres. The skiing is first class and the lift system is very good and getting upgraded each year. Spoilt for choice where to eat and drink on the mountains.

The Skiwelt is a good suggestion, and it is possible to avoid ski buses, providing you choose the right resort. Ellmau and Hopfgarten are ski in/out. In Soell, you can ski across the fields to the Hotel Gansleit, but you will need the bus in the morning.
