Hi

Is there a bus service from niederau to westendorf
and/or hopfgarten ?

Finding it difficult to find holiday in westendorf but can get in at nierderau, but slopes better for beginners in westendorf/hopfgarten.

Thanks

There is no regular bus service from Niederau to Hopfgarten. It is only a 12 minute drive, so a taxi is an option. One of the travel companies organises an ad hoc minibus.

For a beginner the slopes at Niederau are suitable, and the red ski school is highly rated in Tirol.

Niederau to Westendorf, by car no problem at all. By bus is slighty more difficult, there is a bus link to Worgl & from there onto Hopfgarten but would take a good hour.
For info on Westendorf try www.skiwelt.at & www.kitzbuehel-alpen.com accomodation links on these sites.

Nice ski station Westendorf.

I agree about Westendorf. I have managed a terrific New Year offer on the schiwelt, and did ot through the tourist board. Emailed them my dates, and the hotels contacted me with offers. Great service.

Hi

Thank you both for your replies, another question if I may -

Is it possible to get from Hopfgarten to Westendorf?
Free bus from hotel in Niederau to Hopfgarten, but all the nice looking blue runs are in Westendorf.

If not a bus, are there taxis in Hopfgarten and if so are they difficult to book or need to pre-book?

Thanks in advance

Kind regards
jane

I didn't say the mini bus service was free! I think there is a combined charge, which includes a day pass. Once in Hopfgarten, with a pass, you could use the ski bus service to take you to Westendorf.
If you want to ski in Westendorf, why are you having difficulty in booking there? Do you plan to go at a busy time, eg schools holidays?
Are you looking to use a tour operator, or are you prepared to diy?

Hi Dave

Thanks for your reply again.

Because we have to go either 26th or 28th December it is proving very difficult, tried every tour operator.
Suggested trying DIY but with dates involved etc still proving major headache.
So Niederau was next choice with hope of being able to get across to westendorf.
Thanks, as now know its possible.

BTW got such brain ache earlier went onto youtube to look at pistes and guess who I found - you Dave.
Awesome video, I can't believe you held it whilst skiing - no shakes or wobbling, amazing.

Kind regards
Jane

Before you lot get started, Jane is referring to my digi camera!
Jane, I am going to the other side of the schiwelt, on the same date, 26 Dec. Managed a cheap Easyjet flight to Munich, train to Kufstein, and let the Tourist board find my accomodation.
Does your local airport let you access Munich or Salzburg?
