Hello
I've booked to go to Sauze D'oulx on 2nd Jan and as I havent been skiing in 10 years i'm wondering whether anyone knows any websites that offer good deals on lift passes or whether I could save a few quid buying it at the resort. Was quoted £179 for 6 day pass on first choice website and on skiholidayextras.com it was 177 euros...
Much appreciated,
David

Hi DavManX,
I don't know about First Choice, but I had an e-mail from Inghams a couple of days ago to say that they now have a lift pass price guarantee so that if it's cheaper in the resort they will refund the difference when you get there.
The price of the lift pass in Europe for us here in the U.K. partly depends on the euro/pound exchange rate and so it's difficult to know ahead of time whether it's better to buy it as part of the package or wait until you're in resort.
You just need to buy yourself a crystal ball :D

The S/D web site gives last season price as 180 eu, and your 177 eu may be last season price, commission shared. This equates to £155. Assuming 5% cost rise, price may be 189 eu, £163.
A week prior to your departure, check the local price, convert with the euro rate at that time. If more expensive, buy your lift pass on the transfer bus.

Generally we book for sauze area pass before we go although this year prices varied with £20 of difference on some. No benefits to buying from rep on bus and to be honest buying in resort has only ever saved a couple of pence. Inghams were least expensive at £157.00 for Christmas and Crystal being £177. check out sauzeonline.com for realistic pricing and bearing in mind you leave high season. Cannot get better ski area, snow excellent last year so fingers crossed, try a couple of days ski guiding with the reps if First Choice offer as part of package to get a feel for resort. Good luck and enjoy
