Sad news for skiing and climbing.

It appears that Fredrik Ericsson has fallen while attempting to summit K2 for his planned ski descent.

What is known at present, is summarised here :-

There is a very good article on the BMC Website, written by Rob Wylie. Well worth a read.

He was modest too, in terms of his ability and his achievements. In the world of pro-skiers and mountaineers I'm afraid to say these personality traits are something of a rarity.
