Please help we are a group of fairly new skiiers - will Niederau definately be a good place to go to improve our techniques - we prefer nice wide blues. We usually go to Alpbach but find it a bit limiting, will be going for new year, is the snow good enough then? Also what hotel - prefer 3-4* and preferably a pool but not too expensive.
Sorry, Niederau information wanted again!

I stayed in Hinterglemm but it was the week before Christmas. Fantastic hotel - http://www.hotel-theresia.com/designhotel/de/willkommen/
it's a bit on the top end of the scale, but I can't praise it enough here, take a look at my blog. IMO Saalbach would be the better place to stay if hotel is not your top prio. More bars, eateries and generally livelier.

If you find Alpbach limiting, you will struggle with Niederau. Its a lot smaller.
Its a good place for beginners, and has a fanclub on this website, but if you want a variety of cruisy blues, its not the place for you. I suggest somewhere like Saalbach might be better for you.

Hehe, the irony!!
Go with Tony's suggestion of Saalbach Hinterglemm - Leogang. Mind you will need to do some cruisey reds to access the blues, but it's a milage area for sure!!
