It seems that lots of lonely hire cars need to be driven home from the channel ports; and Hertz are offering one-way rentals for just One Pound.

The offer excludes all petrol, tolls, etc. French cars have to be at their destination within 24 hours of collection, and international within 48... but it could suit someone here...

See Hertz One Way for One Pound.

They do say this special offer only lasts until Tuesday 27th April, so if anyone wants to take it up they'll have to be pretty quick

I don't really see any real benefits except doing Hertz a favour.

Hmmmm benefits... let me think... go down to the Alps and ski and just have to arrange a one way flight home or sit in an office looking out at the grey Manchester skies.

Know which i would rather be doing

The only benefit I can think of is that you wouldn't have to pay car fees on the ferry/tunnel, only pedestrian ones, because the cars are on the other side of the channel. Plus, of course it would be handy if you can drive but don't have access to your own car.

But the big drawback is that you have to take the car to one of their drop-off points in Paris etc. - and none of these are in ski resorts

I often wonder what everyone on here does, when they're at work. A few people say, but most don't.
