So this was in my first season in Niederau, we were young eagles, trying everything. There were certainly few days, when I carried a camera. One day, two of us were off piste through the trees, absolutely invincible.

Anyway, there was a little incident, and when my friend asked for help, (imagine a muffled "Help!"), I politely suggested that he might have to wait a moment, at least until I could capture the moment.........

You see, skinny skis + unconsolidated snow are the issue here. If only he could have seen the future and delayed taking up skiing until the late 90s

Great pic.

Look at those skis. How many seconds did you have to take the lens cover off to expose the plate ? Hand coloured, I'm guessing.

because I'm so inclined .....

This guy is about 5ft 6in tall, and so he was only skiing on 205s. Hardly long, by any stretch of the imagination.

I did take a closer look at the pic, and I do detect orange wax. That might have been the problem.

He is out with our group this week, and I'm not sure that he has actually skiied a piste run yet! He is a brilliant off pister. Unfortunately, as you can see, he had to eat a lot of snow to get there.

Buggeroo, what a co-incidence. I hardly ever fall. But for the past 2 weeks, have been skiing with my mate, who came over from New Zealand for a re-union. Then he went and skied across the front of me, and I crossed the back of his skis. He went a big purler, I went a little one.
And then today, I was off piste down an awkward "must turn" type run, took an odd fall, and ended up wrenching the bad knee.
Sh*t happens.

Mrs H had a fall in Serre Che on Friday. However, it came after a few beers whilst walking to the bus stop over some icy paths in her boots carrying her skis......
