Rossignol B1 skis

Hi all,

A colleague's offering to sell me a pair of Rossignol B1 for €100. Does anyone know anything about these skis? They seem to have pretty good reveiws on the few websites I've found, but not sure if they're appropriate for me, a reasonable comfortable intermediate (mostly blue/red, few black, very limited off piste)

Also, re. length, they're 170cm and I'm 5'11", going by ski length guides i've seen around the net this seems to be an ok length for me, does anyone have any better advice?

They were ok for on piste action. I would want to know what condition they are in, how many times they have had a base grind, how old they are, how much action in weeks on the snow have they had, what bindings they come with, and what do you want to get out of them?

Probably regarded as an intermediate ski TBH.

Back in 2000 I use to ski on the Bandit xx which were the forerunners of the B1 & B2 skis. These skis were awsome & at the time were the best ski I had ever used. Pretty much go anywhere ski but to be fair at that time I was skiing piste only. Not sure about the length, lot of advice on the site at the moment on ski length. 170cm might be a short but its down to the feeling you get when on snow that counts. A good guide would be to compare your physical size & skiing ability to that of the seller, if you are both similar the likelyhood is that these skis will be good for you. The price seems fair for skis in good condition.

Thanks for the advice. Will check out condition and other stuff when I see them tomorrow.

I'm basically intermediate, so want them to continue to learn on, hoping to get to the level where I'm at ease on any piste and starting to head off piste, at which stage (hopefully this time next year) I'll start hiring again to get an idea of some better skis to upgrade to.

I've already got two more trips planned this season, so price-wise they should pay for themselves in terms of hire-cost saved.

Provided they are in decent nick with no damage, I'd probably say they will be good for your 2 trips this season at least, and you can take it from there.
