My son, who is 19 and on a gap year before uni, and I, have permission from my wife for the two of us to go skiing for the very first time. I'm looking for the following "must haves":
Easy access to slopes,
a reasonably priced all in package to include ski passes, tuition etc, just to make things simple,
snow (as we're probably going around 21st March),
the possibility of saying "I'll go there again, maybe with my dear wife!!!",
pretty resort rather than concrete where we can have a stroll in the evening and have a reasonable choice of a restaurant and a bar or two,
France, Austria Andorra or Italy,

Is it possible to narrow things down given the above criteria?

You can pick up a learn to ski package from some of the TO's 8)

Hi Knapdog, as usual when some-one asks your question I will always say Seefeld/Austria. Its got a bit of every-thing and excellent ski schools as well. Crystal and Inghams are the main To's and they do all the learn to ski packages.
I'm a laydee

I have also written a lot about Seefeld on this board, no need to repeat it, no doubt a search will bring up the comments by RoseR & by me. Generally very positive. Last year I did not enjoy it so much in March as it is relatively low, and snow in the bottom half or so was a bit slushy.

Seefeld is also good because a decent, charming little town in itself, and close to Innsbruck by train, bus or car, so if you are not so fit as to ski all day every day there is other stuff to do. Skiing, especially starting, is tiring, if I skied all day every day it would get dangerous.

I'd like to visit Lech & St Anton, I heard they are lovely, but aren't they both very upmarket and expensive?
