Hello all

I normally ski Perisher but we go outside school holidays because it is WAY too crowded in the hols.

I understand that the holidays will be busier, but is it frustratingly so, or can I bring my family over for the week starting 10 July and still have a fantastic experience?

My kids will be 6 and 8, and it'll be their 3rd year on the snow. Planning on TC.

Any tips on skiing NZ? ie Weekly passes or daily passes to skip bad weather?

(Sorry, this should have been in the AU/NZ forum)

Thanks in advance
Kenton

Kenton,
Welcome to J2ski. You might find there are not too many antopodeans here, (although there are some) I live in Scotland, have skiied in Perisher, and been summer hill walking on Coronet Peak near Queens town.

You will get some ski place info from this site on http://www.j2ski.com/australasian_ski_resorts/New_Zealand/

It is a bit out of date, but the mountains don't change!

Best of luck

Hi Kenton

Welcome to J2ski.

I skied in New Zealand last year whilst on my travels and can recommend it highly. Unfortunately I was there towards the end of August and the weather wasn't great although having said that I was told I got some of the best conditions of the season on the days I did ski. I did find that I couldn't ski on two days I had planned as a result of the weather and the mountains were shut.

Have a look at this forum as it may help http://www.j2ski.com/ski-chat-forum/posts/list/6353.page

Unfortunately the site that hosts my photos won't show the links on here anymore but check out this blog if you want to see the photos http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/New-Zealand/South-Island/Queenstown/blog-433466.html

Sorry I can't help you much more than that....
