I have just booked a last minute ski trip to Wengen in Switzerland next week.

I'll be travelling on my own and was wondering if anyone is going to be out there who fancied meeting up for a drink and / or some skiing (I have about 8 trips worth of experience).

Also, can anyone recommend any must see or do things in that resort / area?

Thanks!

You must go to Murren and ski down from the Schilthorn - great experience and you feel a bit like James Bond!

Hi,

I'm off on the 21st, so would love to hear a "real" snow report from you upon your return.

Thanks lota - I will visit the Schilthorn, it's always good to feel like James Bond!

I will provide a snow report when I get back!

Hi again,

Schilthorn is a must. Depends if you want to take your skis with you. I went up there on a "bad" weather day so didn't bother. Fantastic place.

You can also take the train, which I will surely do this time, up through the Eiger. It takes you up to the top of the Jungfraujoch at 3454 metres. Great views of the glacier.

The only other thing is to enjoy the scenery. The ski area at Wengen is at the foot of the north face of the Eiger. The scenery there is breathtaking ... much more scenic than your average resort in Austria.

I'm sure you will love it.

I believe its because the restaurant at the top & the run down featured in a bond film, but I don't why it would make you feel like James Bond.
Perhaps you look like him.
