Hi
I have heard that the transfer time varies as to whether a pass is open or not (due to snow conditions). Can anyone tell me if this is true, and if it is what the transfer time is if the pass is closed?
Many Thanks

Mind you, they had Estrella Damm on tap, which was nice.
You were lucky flying into Barca, tour op flights only usually divert if the airport is shut, in which case transfers become the major problem!
I suppose that as the Airline was Thomson and they also had their own Thomson holiday customers on board it was something they had to do or create their own headache.
If it was an airline such as Monarch who had little interest in what happens after the plane lands then i suppose things would have been very different.
Yeah, the transfer is a pain but to be honest i was fine with it. But then again that may just have been the three Valium i took to help me cope with the flight!!!
I will be going back, i am looking at Pas de la Casa next year mainly because of the cost, i like the bar life but i am unwilling to pay french alp prices.

Transfer time varies depending on how much time the tour company wastes stopping enroute. It is usually about 4hrs with the tour companies sometimes longer.
If the pass is closed Andorra is closed!!! Doesnt happen very often so dont worry about it.

Don't worry. The roads from france were closed when we went 4 weeks ago.
The TO just flew us into Barcelona and we coached from there instead. Transfer times were the same, around 3 hrs plus a stop at some shitty cafe.

I know exactly the place you mean, as you start to go up into the hills about half an hour off the motorway. I stopped there from Barca on the way up to Andorra. Long bar and some tables in the front of the place, and a few locals making it look like something from a Western film.Snapzzz wrote:Don't worry. Took us nearly 5 hours from Toulouse to Arinsal 3 years ago.Like you say stop at a poor cafe and all I can say thank god I'm a bloke, the queue to the ladies was rediculous. The transfer is one of the reasons why we be unlikely to go back to Andorra. Had a good time once we were there I might add!
