Hi All,
off to Livigno on Sat i have gathered that it is not much cheaper for kit but the wife needs some new skis. Can anyone reccmd a good shop there with good service ?. Vertigo seems to have a good rep.
Also an up to date eating out guide where is good / bad, we are staying in san rocco at the L Ables. We are taking a 10 year old who eats like a horse!!! so good value appreciated.
Also has anyone hired a guide for off piste... if so which company.
Many thanks for all your help
Kind Regards
Heavenly

Hello heavenlydoddy and welcome to the forum :)

OK, let's start with the restaurants, I personally like BellaVista and Mario's both of which are pretty close to where you will be. These two have proven to be very reliable and consistant over a number of years. Also, I tried what I think is a new restaurant last season which was very good as well. Sadly I am not totally sure of what it was called, but if you head right down the road (past BellaVista and Mario's) to the bottom of the hill (you will understand what I mean when you get there), it is a fairly modern looking restaurant on your right as you head into the main town with a pedestrian square in front of it. There is a counter area as you enter the door, with the main seating area off to the right. It is very light and airy and has modern look and feel to the decor. The food was excellent.

As for skis, there are many shops in Livigno, all competing so you should be able to find a good deal, I have no personal experience of buying equipment here though, so cannot give a recommendation.

Sorry, I cannot help with a guide either.

Enjoy your trip though.

FQ is bang on Bellavista for the best pizza in Italy, Marios's is good always get a free drink there, I have brought gear at a good price just up the road from Bellavista at Livigno sport, not in to off piste so can't
help you there. , have a great time they have some fantastic snow at the moment, and by the way Bar agata for a traditional Italian bar at very good prices, enjoy 8)

Hi Wickers,
Am off 'there' next Saturday ( via Innsbruck so hopefully a 'shorter' transfer) & really looking forward to it. Where abouts in town are these places you recommend? If you could give some building/structure to refer to that would be great. Not sure where we are staying as we have allocation on arrival so hopefully wont be to far off the beaten track.
Thanks in advance

All the places that I have recommended are in the Saroch,if your coming up from the main pedestrian area of Livigno you first hit Marios, then Bar Agata and last Bellavista, have a great time I'll be there in March
