hi sorry i cant help you with the weather but thought i would reply as no one seems to bother in here!.we went 2 years ago stayed in banff first week then jasper the drive to jasper is fantastic nice bar about half way i would recomend stopping at amazing views(i will find out name i think most people stop there).jasper itself is very quiet, very friendly people skiing good ,bit of a town center some nice places to eat.If its your first time it does take some getting used to when deer and elk walk past you in the middle of the street!.I did prefer banff but dont let that put you off as i have just booked kimberly which is also very quiet.any questions feel free to ask.i think there is a web cam and you will have no trouble with lack of snow cheers daz

Hi Daz

Thanks for the reply, I have been checking out the cams on the Marmot Basin website i was just seeing if there was any body out there who could give us an update on the weather/skiing/ snow condition's. Not a big problem you know what it is like trying somewhere new for the first time, I can not wait to see deer and elk walking the street it must be unreal. We have heard about the brill views on the journey to Jasper but we have transfers included so will not be driving but hope to see the scenery as we are landing just after lunch.

Thanks again for the reply

regards

Freckles.

Feb is a long way off conditions will change between now and then but... We have skied Jasper for the last five weekends and the conditions are perfect. I skied on November 15th the first time that i've skied Jasper in November in 20 year! The conditions were and still are excellent. THe cold seems to be staying away this year and all my weekends have seen temps in the mid teens during the nights and up to minus 4 or 5 during the days. That should continue into Feb for you.

Feb is the snow month here in Alberta Rockies so the snow will be worth it as even now we have more snow than we've seen in the last few seasons, some say the best January on record! There's a new chair that actually clears up every lift line. The new chair actually has seats for 400 people we figured. That's 400 people who aren't skiing the hill as there butts are in the seats. this equates to having fewer people on the snow reducing crowds every where. You will need strong legs to ski all day as I've found that you can get in 10 runs top to bottom in half a day easily. Thats some 15000 vertical feet or so. I get that in Powder sometimes if you ski Knob or Eagle chairs.

Feb is warmer for most part but it can get cold to minus 20 at night with high of mid teens. Want details on weather check out www.theweathernetwork.com seek Jasper AB they have two week forecasts that seem to be well researched.

Welcome, enjoy, rejoice in good fortune.
