Anyone know much about heated gloves;and I'm not talking about the cheapo ones with a couple of batteries hanging off the glove. :D

Never tried the heated ones, and I normally go skiing closer to spring so it hasn't been so cold. Going in January this year though, so have decided to take a pair of wetsuit gloves with me to wear kind of as glove liners. Don't really know if it'll work, or even if it's necessary!

I saw a pair at £230 yesterday. Didn't try them though. It seems a lot of money to drop on gloves, they didn't seem like they would be that durable (in terms of wear and tear on the gloves themselves) and on that basis I wouldn't go near them.

I wouldn't think that a neoprene glove will have much insulation value. They're designed to insulate best when wet.

Surely you'd be better spendng a few quid on a pair of glove liners? OH has a 'silk' pair that she uses under her gloves and says they're the dog's doo dahs. OH suffers from poor circulation in her hands but the liners have always kept her warm even at temps down to -20c.

I'm pretty sure I'll be fine with just my gloves really. Was just clearing out a cupboard the other day and found the wetsuit ones, thought I might give them a try.

You're right though they are designed to work wet, but I don't want to experiment with that and end up with wet hands and gloves.
