Munich Airport - best option ?
Kerryman, is your preference for car hire or train transport?
For a list of 18 resorts from the J2ski site go to:
http://www.j2ski.com/ski_resorts/Airports/Munich.html
I question that some of these resorts can be reached within an hour. The ski welt, (Soll,Elmau,Scheffau, Hopfgarten) is a couple of hours.
But Garmish and Tegansee fall within the time limits.
If you are prepared to give yourself a bit more travel time, you will get to bigger areas, or interesting small resorts.
Choose a good ski resort, and I think that you might find a good night life.

Hi, we're four middle aged guys, very average intermediates (we prefer blue to red)& we don't want to spend more than one hour travelling from the airport - we also want a bit of nightlife not necessarily theatre & cinema... - any recommendations ?

Yes. Fly to Innsbruck and go to St Anton, or alternatively take a slightly longer drive and go to Mayrhofen.kerrymen wrote:Hi, we're four middle aged guys, very average intermediates (we prefer blue to red)& we don't want to spend more than one hour travelling from the airport - we also want a bit of nightlife not necessarily theatre & cinema... - any recommendations ?

Intention is shuttle bus/taxi from airport - staying in Germany would be fine, I would just love to know where is a good spot, as I have little experience of resorts ?
