Two weeks before I fire myself off the edge in Soll, starting to worrry the powder isn't gonna show....should I be worried? :(

I've been watching the cams like a deranged lunatic and they've had the snow cannons out whenever the temperature drops below zero. Its due to stay cold for the next week so they'll keep piling it on is my guess.

I'm going in a month. Can't wait!

Thanks Steve, I've been the same, watching those webcams all day every day.......two weeks is too long...!!

Just back having skied all around there, have to say probably the best snow conditions I have skied to date in my short skiing life of 7 trips oner the last 4 years.

The locals seemed to indicate that January and February the snow we had was pretty usual but it is a short 3 month skiing season

Have skied in relatively low Austrian resorts 7 times in the last 5 years and never had any problem with the lack of snow, even the weird year 3 winters ago when everything but the pistes was green. Was in Soll at the end of January. Was very good and would go again.

BEEN 3 TIMES BEFORE, AGAIN WAS THERE 3 YEARS AGO AND WAS VERY DISAPOINTED WITH THE LACK OF SNOW. HAD A DAY OVER WESTENDORF WELL WORTH THE VISIT ENJOY THE BETTER CONDITIONS :lol: :lol:

I think it should be noted that 3 years ago was the mildest winter in Austria for about 45 years. Freak year. I was in Schladming it was then you realised the benefit of the area having 600+ snow cannons. Green hills surrounding you but the pistes were fantastic.
