Hi all, first post so be gentle.
I've been skiing for quite some time now(average intermediate)but have never owned my own boots.
I suffer from painful feet as quite a few others on this forum seem to.I have always done my boots up as tight as possible,as i was taught years ago,i now realise this was a mistake after reading posts on here.
I live in Nottingham and would like to buy my own boots, could anyone recommend a good shop within a 25 mile radius to visit?
Sorry for the lack of more info but im in a rush.
Cheer's,Nick. :D

Welcome to J2ski :D As you've been reading up on boot related posts, you will have seen that there are a few really trusted bootfitters about. I have heard this winter, of folks flying in to see the bootfitter I use. Plenty of boot sellers about though.
Hopefully someone will post details of a capable fitter matching your criteria.

More likely Easy-booting, maybe even Ryan-airbooting :D

I do know English folk that have taken weekends in Chamonix to combine a visit the Zoo* and a long weekend to bed in their boots, and get any adjustments done.
* I don't think that FootWorks is the same this winter, different setup and no Zookeepers )

Nick,

pretty much all the decent stores in the nottigham area have shut up shop (unless someone can come up with one I don't know about)

closest near by would be lockwoods in leamington, i am a bit further south in Bicester but we are fully booked until the 17th december (probably later by the end of monday)

never leave this to the last minute

Dave, flying in from inverness or edinburgh has been quite the rage this season, had one from cape town last year :D

Bandit, there are still ways to do the chamonix thing, but a trip to www.thebootroom.fr is where it is at..so place to mont blanc rather than cham sud to get the good guys )
