Wengen hotels

Good afternoon! Its that time again and I'm looking at New Year in Wengen.

Can anyone offer any advice or opinions on 3* hotels in the village. Ideally not too far from the cable car / station, with Alpine charm and good food!

I've stayed at the Victoria Lauberhorn, and the Belvedere.

VL is in plumb location, but last time I was there, the management had changed, and I thought it a little soulless. The Belvedere is a lovely hotel, bags of Alpine charm, great food - but some way up the hill. You can leave you skis down at a shop near the lifts (name eludes me, I am having a senior moment) though, for a small fee. I'll be staying with a group that's hired a chalet this year - otherwise I might have stayed at the Falken Great jazz pianist in the evenings!
