We've been for the last two seasons (first week in Jan). No problems with snow. 2008 was a bit lacking below Bort station but this year there was snow down to town all week. Strangely though, over at Canadian Corner on the Lauberhorn run we noticed less snow this year than in 2008.
Given it's relatively low altitude Grindelwald can suffer low down but there's plenty of scope up at First and over towards Kleine Scheidegg.

Was in Grindelwald last Christmas and it was groovy. Plenty of snow up top, a little light at the ends of the resort runs.
Might see you there at Christmas :)

Andermatt is always a safe bet before christmas - The Gemsstock is due to open on the 14th November snow permitting.
I've been in December for the past few years for weekend trips and there's always been loads of snow at mid mountain (Gurschen) and the top.

Adrian - thanks, never really think of Andermatt although it sounds good and maybe not too busy.

First snow (several inches) fell yesterday at Kleine Scheidegg, covering all the surrounding pastures and the station platforms.
